Chiquita promoted the film "Rio" from "Twentieth Century Fox," a 3D animated film from the creators of "Ice Age ™, between March to May 2011. The bananas were sold in Europe in special bags. Each bag included a hand of bananas (about 6 pieces). Two or three bananas were labeled: A "Chiquita Kids" (see picture) plus 1-2 labels of the Rio Chiquita series. In addition you found among the bananas a little bag with three Chiqui bands. The campaign was supported by advertising on television. On the homepage Chiquita.eu you found various information and games.

Here are a three examples of Chiqui Bands. They are rubber strips that you can use as bracelets - preferably several of them at the same time. This is all the rage for pre-pubescent girls. The tapes have the silhouette of film characters. According to Chiquita's home page there are 60 different designs.

There are 18 different Rio labels. The official poster, that you can download at Chiquita.eu, shows 31 different stickers without text (copyright, etc.) and with different colours. These labels were never distributed. In Germany, we had bananas from Costa Rica and Panama. The country was printed on the bags. In my opinion, the Panama and Costa Rica labels do not differ.
